Comparing Detached Homes Across the Lower Mainland
If you're shopping for a detached home in the Lower Mainland, you've probably noticed that home prices can vary dramatically from one city to the next.
A typical detached home in Langley costs significantly more than a typical detached home in Mission or Chilliwack. The question many buyers are asking is simple: what do you actually get for that difference in price?
In my latest YouTube video, I compare detached homes around the benchmark price in 5 communities:

Rather than focusing only on home prices, I look at what a typical detached home actually looks like in each city. This includes home size, lot size, age, bedrooms, bathrooms, and overall value.
Detached Home Prices Tell Only Part of the Story
Many buyers begin their search with a budget. The challenge is figuring out where that budget fits best.
For example, a buyer looking at detached homes in Langley may discover that the same budget could buy a larger home or larger lot in Mission or Chilliwack. On the other hand, some buyers may decide that being closer to Vancouver, employment centres, shopping, and services is worth paying more.
There is no perfect answer.
Every city offers a different combination of location, amenities, lot sizes, home styles, and price points.
